Advent :: Day fourteen

I have found time to make a few of my own cards this year... but they were quick!

Nothing terribly sophisticated. A triangle of green paper and a small rectangle of patterned paper glued down onto a card. Add a star shaped sequin and a few pearly buttons and there you have it. PVA glue works for the buttons.

See, I told you there might be tutorials in amongst all these advent posts! Blink and you might have missed it.

And depending on your background card colour... you get totally different effects. And whilst we're talking different colours you could use multi-coloured buttons... or all red buttons... you get the idea!

It's all clever stuff round here you know!

  1. I thought I was doing well being awake and READING blogs at this time, never mind writing them! The cards are lovely, and sometimes simple is best (or so I keep telling myself)
    Now, shouldn't you be going to make cakes. Or maybe you've already got buns in your oven?

  6. The cleverness is in the simplicity of the design - it is so effective and very stylish.

  7. These look great, lots of possible variations could give them quite a different look. Simple can work really well - and means you get it done!

  9. Gina, these are clean and classy. I like them and at least - with all the other things you're doing - you have made your own. I was slow off the blocks this year and only made a handful, having to resort to the local shop to make up the numbers. I'm sure these will be adored whichever mats they land on!

  11. These are quite effective, and you can be proud to send them out ... I'm always lazy about cards and have grand plans to make them, but in the end buy them at the last minute for 50% off (horrible of me, but I do make gifts!). Wendy x
