Day Three

I was meant to be holding an Open Studio at home this weekend but with everything that happened with Barley and the various vet visits etc, I just couldn't cope with the thought of getting the house tidied up and ready and people in and out of the house all day on Sunday. (Not to menton the preparation of promised mince pies and mulled wine). As a result, despite reasonable sales at a local church Christmas market on Saturday I've been left with a lot of seasonal stock!

I was particularly pleased with these cards... thay amused me muchly... although not anyone else it would seem. Romance is obviously dead!
Luckily I only made ten of this design and they can be stored away for next year.

However, I'm not sure the lavender bags will be quite so fragrant by this time next year and I only sold a couple.

So as a result, the remaining four pairs have gone into my Etsy shop this afternoon.

And if they don't sell by Christmas they'll be going into the family's Christmas stockings.... which could be interesting as my family is mostly men!

  1. Too bad about the card sales Gina. I like them a lot and think it's more about people thinking twice this year than any reflection on our creative talents. So many people have said they are reducing the number of cards to send this year because of the price of stamps. Like you say, there's always next year and I think they have a timeless contemporary feel that will always be in vogue!

  2. Several friends selling at local fairs etc have reported slow sales, as Lesley says your mistletoe cards won't date, but what a shame as they are rather cute.
I'm sure many gents could do with a lavender scented wardrobe - you could give them a pair and tell them to pop them in their trainers (I'm not implying anything about your families feet - honest (o: )

  3. I was going to suggest renaming them trainer scented sachets too! Obviously Jill and I have had similar uses in the past. Lol

  6. Straight away I thought of the bags in a sock drawer! Luckily I don't have recent experience of smelly men's feet!...but Will comes back soon! Bet they sell on Etsy.

  7. People are definitely cutting down on sending cards this year! Good idea for trainer scents, shame about the cards but they won't date and you'll have a head start for next year! I'm giving decorated hearts that I made for a craft sale and didn't sell to the family this weekend.

  8. What a shame, your cards and lavender bags are gorgeous, but I think everyone else has said it, the trend is not to buy too much this year. All our family are cutting down and we're making use of recycling one away or another this Christmas.
But a lovely cheerful Advent post :-)

  9. I'll echo the above comments re. cards - I've heard lots of people saying they aren't sending any/many this year. I've made lavender bags and they stay fragrant quite a long time - good for insomnia, as well as smelly trainers - just stuff one in your pillow at night!

  10. Lovely designs but we know the feeling about craft sales this year too! I am sure your family will love those lavender bags as a little gift. x Jo
