Thank you all so much for your lovely comments and messages about Barley. I think it is going to take us all quite a while to get used to the big gap he has left in our lives. I'm trying to cope by keeping busy so I thought I would do what I have done for the past two years during December and make a blogging advent calender.
Twenty four posts, one each day during December up to Christmas day.
Totally mad of course, But I don't care... want to join me?
I will start day one with a photo of our 'real' advent calender because I would hate to break a blogging habit and I think this has been on my blog each December since I started blogging five years ago. It's hanging up as it has done each year since I made it and the bags are filled with chocolates but I don't think anyone has noticed yet. Perhaps my men would have preferred Ali's beer calendar?
Whatever... the countdown has begun!
Not noticed chocolate?! I'm sure they will soon! I'm not sure I could do a blog each day, but I'll certainly read each of yours :-)
ReplyDeleteYour real advent calendar is lovely Gina. I didn't intend to do an Advent blog, but after seeing a few started I'm thinking maybe...?
ReplyDeleteBut I'm looking forward to seeing yours... bet there will be some of your scrummy mince pies coming along soon!

I will give it a go Gina. We don't have an advent calendar any more - I will just post a little Christmas item/picture each day. Your calendar looks lovely x Jo
ReplyDeleteA man on radio 2 the other night mentioned a gin advent calendar. What was I doing looking at the chocolate ones then?
ReplyDeleteGreat advent calendar. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'll manage to post every day but I will make sure I read your posts every day :o)
ReplyDeleteStarting to feel very Christmassy here - Mr Moog and I have done a big 'Spring clean' ready for the decorations to go up and for once the house looks lovely!
Love your Advent calendar but I haven't managed an ordinary blog post for the last 10 days so I'm a hopeless case for one every day. I shall enjoy reading yours though. I don't feel very Christmassy yet but I have begun making preparations. The time this year has passed so quickly I'm still back in September!
ReplyDeleteThat is so lovely, I will enjoy reading your posts.

All the more chocolate for you!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI won't promise to blog every day but I will promise drop in here. :)

How lovely, trust the men not to notice, they're sooooo..... unobservant !
ReplyDeleteI think a post a day is a lovely idea and a great distraction :-)
I love that tea advent calendar, but then again I don't drink beer :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure I have the stamina for a daily advent blog Gina but it's a great idea. Shall ponder on it.... ps Have they twigged about the chocolate yet?
ReplyDeleteUm, I can't see a calendar...
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I think this is a brilliant idea - mad, but brilliant.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and yes, mad but fun. I'll leave it to you though - a blog a day? Once a week is about it for me!Like the chocolate idea!
ReplyDeleteFunny - I find 'don't forget to eat your Advent chocolate' a pretty underused phrase in a normal morning full of reminders!!!
