Day Nineteen

While the rest of the UK ground to a halt with snow two weeks ago we seemed to be one of the few places that escaped with hardly a flutter of a snowflake... but that all changed last night.

This morning we woke to about 7 inches of the stuff and I confess to being just a little excited... it looks so beautiful.

We ventured through the gate in our back garden to a Narnia like world... and I wasn't the only one who was excited. Snow seems to turn dogs back into puppies!

Off now to shovel snow off the drive... and possibly build a snowman. Hope the rest of you are warm and safe.

  1. I must admit we were more than excited too. Mr DC is angling for a trip to Royston Heath, and I think he's insane.

  2. It does look beautiful Gina but I am quite glad we only had a little. However, by the look of the sky that could all change. Wrap up warm and enjoy yourself.

  5. We woke up to snow today for the first time this year, and I share your excitement. Can't get into the greenhouse again though as it's iced up but that's minor when it's all so pretty!

  9. We've had only a couple of inches of snow this year, but it has been COLD. The woodstove has been going night and day, and I'll be bringing in a lot of stovewood today because snow is predicted for three days this coming week. Here we go...

  10. It does indeed look very beautiful - but is so impractical for getting things done which involved transport! Your tree looks lovely, by the way. x

  12. Shovelling wasn't much fun here but I have a dog that turned into a puppy too and made the neighbours laugh!

It is so pretty but I can't bear the disruption it seems to cause!
