Tuscan Tales

This has been our home in the sun for the past week

Nestled among the hillside vineyards of the Chianti mountains

and beautiful olive groves.

There was a couple of days sightseeing.
First, the wonderful Gothic city of Siena

And then Florence... heart of the Renaissance.
Here we soaked up the culture

strolled along the Ponte Vecchio

and marvelled at the beauty of Michelangelo's David

But most of all we spent our days lazing about in the sunshine,
reading in the shade and
dipping in here when it got too hot

and of course enjoying the simple things in life...
good food and wine

Now I've bored you all with my holiday snaps I really should get back to the washing which is draped all over the house due to our lovely inclement English weather. It's good to be home!

  8. So glad you had a wonderful holiday --- I'm not at all jealous of the sun you enjoyed or the scenery or the culture or the wine or the lovely food or the swimming pool --- there I think I hide that quite well. Looking forward to seeing your inspiration turn into production.

  15. Hello Gina...we stayed at Greive (or Greve, can't remember how to spell it) in Chianti, July last year and your holiday photos are just like ours! Boy was it hot, but so beautiful. My husband has been miserable as sin, these last few weeks because we are not going on hols this year :-(
Hope you have a good day at Festival of Quilts. I'm there on Fri. too. (Jackie told me).
