Reading and Relaxation

Stewart and I are off for a short break to this Tuscan hilltop for a bit of reading and relaxation, leaving Joe to look after the house and the dog. I think he has a whole posse of friends coming to stay with him so I hope we still have a home left when we return!

Unfortunately not all my reading is entirely for pleasure.

Although I hope to find time to get through at least a couple of these too.

And maybe even a bit of time for some painting.

And some sightseeing... And of course eating plenty of lovely Italian food and drinking lots of local Chianti... maybe I won't get to read many of those text books after all... maybe I should just leave them at home with Joe!
I'll be back soon so don't have too much fun without me.

  1. Oh I am so jealous!!! And your painting is stunning. Love your skirt in the previous post (sorry I didn't get chance to comment!) definitely very Boden! I keep dreaming of making clothes but when I get up in the morning all my plans seem so silly! Maybe I'll be inspired by your success. Have a really really lovely time! Lucy xxx

  2. Subversive Stitcher really good but a little dry. Nothing a few galsses of chianti won't assist.

  6. My favourite place in the world (apart from the seaside back home). PLEASE blog some of your Italian meals when you come back - we can drool can't we? And can you take pics of the vineyards, veg growing in every nook and cranny and can you try to get a pic of a firefly?.....I could go on.

Enjoy both your types of reading - even the obligatory stuff looks rather interesting.

    Have a wonderful time!

  16. Ooh, your break sounds lovely .... apart from the studying, natch .... I hope you're having a great time.

And you could give those boden types a run for their money in that fabulous skirt - that bias binding is an inspired idea ... I wonder if I could do that with the curtains that have been waiting to be hemmed for months!

  21. My father has just lent me A Thousand Splendid Suns too (although I've yet to read it) - we obviously have similar taste in books. I look forward to hearing what you think of The Time Traveller's Wife - it is a book that has really stayed with me. I'm now half way through Ian McEwan's On Chesil Beach and am so enjoying it, although it's very different from the TTW.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog. x
