A Sunday Trio

Another Sunday combination of bread, soup and cake...

The Bread::
A rather tasty soda bread made from a nutty local stone ground wholemeal flour bought last week from Lode Mill.

The Soup::
Carrot and lentil using the last few carrots from our vegetable patch.

The Cake::
One that has appeared on several blogs lately that I couldn't resist... a cookies and cream fudge brownie... a Lorraine Pascale recipe that can be found here.

Very good, although I still think I prefer my usual Nigella recipe.

And after the frustration on Friday and more searching on Saturday, I still couldn't find any Bondaweb ( and still have a very messy workroom) so Stewart went out to buy me more and I was able to finish my samples and photographs for my article...

It should be appearing in the June edition of Workshop on the Web... and this is just a little glimpse of what is to come...

  1. That little sneak peek is a tease Gina - can't wait to find out what it's all about. The cake looks dreadfully wicked, but the bread and soup look very healthy and delicious. I have been baking today too - soda bread, cheese and herb bread and a lemon drizzle cake.

  2. The photo of choco cake makes me swoon, but I'd better see what's in the vegetable bin for a healthy soup tonight. After all, one can't live on cake alone....um, can one?

  6. That bread looks amazing! And I'm not sure how I missed the recipe for those brownies! I made a lemon & courgette cake yesterday and we had to throw it away it went so horribly wrong. We were very sad. I had to use up the last of the eggs to make a replacement lemon drizzle.
