I'm back there again on Saturday 24th April, teaching a day class on Soft Structured Books. We'll make the fabric covers using simple free machining techniques.
We'll learn to make cords and ties to keep the books shut.
We'll look at transfer paints to decorate the inside covers and then finish off with some simple book construction. Lots of techniques learned and a little book to take home at the end of the day.
I think there are one or two places left so give Angela a call at Art and Stitch if you are interested. And keep an eye on their website because I'm sure I'll be back to teach more classes if they'll have me!A different type of work tomorrow as I'm off to give a talk to the West Essex Embroiderers Guild in Romford. No Matter how many times I do this talk I manage to convince myself beforehand that everyone will be bored silly and either fall asleep or walk out! So be kind to me Ladies of Romford!!!

ReplyDeleteI hadn't realised how long it's been since I last popped in and so much has been going on. LOVE all the textile bits,and your collection for your course is mouthwatering, fab colours. And the macaroons! I was seduced by the same magazine cover, didn't have any of the right equipment so mine resembled 'snot and poo' far more than yours but were pronounced delicious! Hope the talk went well, Penny x
