Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the super comments on my last post. No matter how happy I feel with work achieved there is always an element of self doubt... often a very large element... and always things I would change or do differently. So your encouragement has meant I've put it all away and have been able to take time out this weekend... to spend with family and friends and of course food. Lots of food! It started on Friday when I made a large batch of hot cross buns...
These were followed by date and oatmeal cookies just in case we got peckish...
Then after reading that cupcakes are so last year, I just had to try the "new cupcakes"...

Enjoy a well earned rest ,your food looks delicious ,Ibet the snot and poo got eaten though lol ..love Jan xx.
ReplyDeleteIf you really truly ate your way through all of that I'm amazed you didn't explode! We are full fit to bust after a family dinner and looking forward to Jonathan Creek :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are truly a domestic goddess Gina, how about cookery lessons for your textile students?
ReplyDeleteI just knew you had made those excellent Hot Cross Buns yourself, not to mention all the other delights. When do you sleep?! Your children sound just like mine, but their ages range from 35-52!! Sad, isn't it? I'm looking forward to tomorrow - my first day of food after a two day boiled water diet to get rid of a tummy bug. I'll have my Easter Egg next week maybe.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You really did have a bit of a baking session there didn't you?! It all looks fabulous - even the snot and poo!
ReplyDeleteLucy xx
I seem to have been glued to the cooker all weekend too.
ReplyDeleteNow I am sooooo impressed with your macaroons. Or Macaron. I am beside myself with wanting to try some but thought they were very difficult to make and I don't know anywhere near ere where I could buy them. Obviously either you are extremely good at baking (Well, I know that)or they are not quite as difficult as everyone seems to make out.
Happy Easter Gina. The baking looks delicious!! I only managed apple crumble and egg custard. Where did you get your recipe for the macaroons? They look great. I have only tried to make them once - a few weeks ago and they were a complete disaster!!!!
ReplyDeletei've never seen sno and poo look sooo good!
ReplyDeletexx
sorry, forgot the 't'!!!
ReplyDeleteGina - you should be the size of a house!! And ignore Neil's comments - we don't need lessons - just bring us the cakes! (I'm sure Angela will agree with me)
ReplyDeleteHa! I heard the same thing about cupcakes and macarons! Were they hard to make? I've been itching to try them!
ReplyDeleteI have made the macaroons twice from that recipe now, they were just sooooo enticing weren't they? Have never made rocky roads, so that is something to try out methinks. Your baking all looks fabulous. :O)
ReplyDeleteYou're like a real life super woman, I didn't realise that people made hot cross buns I thought they were something you went out and bought.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get the time to bake, study and sew. The food all looked fantastic especially the chocolate cake.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you didn't invite my kids? That sounds like something they would say - just before wolfing down all of the macaroons!
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad you took a rest from the degree work - but you replaced sewing machine with oven! Still, you've inspired us - could you post a recipe for chocky macaroons? Or email one maybe?
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a delicious time x
There's me patting myself on the back for conquering crystallised violets and then you go and make macaroons! Lucky family and friends - hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend!
ReplyDeleteGosh. Do you never stop? What a fantastic baking session. Love the look of that Rocky Road.
