Transformation

Following the advice of many of you blogging commenters... I've transformed my vegetable glut...

Into several jars of hot and spicy vegetable "glutney" (I might have over done the chillis)

Just a slight problem... not sure anyone else around here likes homemade chutney. Which does add up to rather a lot of cheese and chutney sandwiches for me over the next twelve months. Actually now I come to think of it... not really a problem at all.

Lunch over... now I need to get back to my drawing assignment before heading off to a technical rehearsal this evening.

  1. The other year I had a glut of veggies so a made a hot and spicy chutney, I used it in curries. In fact I still do, I'm down to the last jar, curries wont be the same when this jar has gone. Mmm now I know what I'll cook for dinner tomorrow!!!!
    The sandwich looks tasty.

  3. I think I'm a bit of a freak - I like cheese and chutney and bread separately in a ploughmans, but there's something about a cheese and chutney (or pickle!) sandwich that just takes me right back to school packed lunches, and I simply can't eat them. Though yours does look very good!

  4. You can't beat a good cheese and chutney sandwich. Have a gold star for creating something so appetising from your glut of vegs. It will only improve with time so you don't have to worry about having too much. Hope the next lot of drawings will be hot stuff too!!

  6. Not sure how I missed your last post but it did make me laugh. I can't believe that you would eat some thing out of a can. That's more mine and Gill's style. This post is more like you. If Gill and I had the inclination we would probably wish to be more like you - a wizz in the kitchen, but It's just not meant to be. Your so clever.

  7. Looks great! And eating it all sounds even better. At least you didn't make 12 huge chocolate cakes that you had to devour yourself! ha.

  10. Oh lord do we love chutney! Some of ours is about four years old now Gina and despite the fact that some people say it is no good after this time it is some of the best, most rich chutney I have ever tasted. x
