More Crochet Bunting

I would like to start this post with the bold claim... "By popular demand"... but to be perfectly honest there wasn't any demand, popular or otherwise!

However I was not going to let a little triviality like that stop me and I have been beavering away to make more crochet bunting... and more importantly... to write up the pattern.

Now I am very aware that there are lovely bloggers out there who will happily write up such patterns and give them away for free on their blogs. And I'm quite sure that gains them many, many more loyal fans and followers than I currently have or I am ever likely to have.

But tempting though it may be to get lots more cyberspace friends, I am foresaking popularity for the need to actually make a living.

So the pattern is available as a download, for a modest fee, from my Etsy Shop.

Lovely bunting that you can make yourself in any colour combinations you like.

I would love to see what you make!

  3. Why shouldn't you charge a fee for your pattern - hope you get lots of takers. The bunting is so pretty and I don't know whether your lovely dresser sets it off, or the bunting sets the dresser off. Either way, both look stunning.

  5. Too right! But are you sure you are charging enough though? I'm sure a heck of a lot of time and effort went into designing and writing. Wish I could crochet, it looks beautiful.

  9. You've found a perfect setting for that jolly crocheted bunting, Gina.

I think you are wise to have the pattern in your etsy shop. (Just think of the Christmas colorway possibilities....)

I'm knitting away over here, even though the summer heat is challenging.

  11. I think letting others use the pattern if they choose to is good sense and charmingly put... but you know me and knitting and crochet etc. I love the look but don't think I could stay the course!

  12. It's lovely bunting Gina. And as others have said, you are right not to give the pattern away. I release free knitting patterns because I don't make my living from my craft and so can afford to try and use them to generate donations to MSF, but I am tired of being treated as if that means my time isn't valuable. May you have many sales :D
