At least that is what it feels like this morning.
Not only is it my birthday today, which makes me feel very excited even at my age, but I've also had some extra special, super exciting news. But first... it wouldn't be a birthday without cake.
A malted milk and chocolate cake. (I made it up... just bunged a load of Horlicks powder into the cake mixture and chocolate icing... topped with Maltesers, of course) Tastes pretty good!
I confess we started it yesterday to celebrate my good news... along with a rather nice glass of pink bubbly (a birthday present from my two lovely step children)
And my news... I heard yesterday that I have been accepted to start an MA in Contemporary Textiles at the University of Hertfordshire this September. Although I won't be finishing off my BA, I will still end up graduating in 2013 as before, but hopefully with a better qualification. Plus I now get to go to University where I have access to studio space, print studios, recording studios etc... I can't tell you how excited (and slightly terrified) I feel.
Today I already feel I've been spoilt rotten... a morning off from dog walking and sorting out the chickens... Stewart took over while I stayed in bed and read my book. I've had some lovely presents including an ipod... which of course I've now got to learn how to use (also terrifying!) I have to say though, one of my favourite presents was this key ring from Sam...
Just perfect after the success of my installation on Monday. So as you might imagine, excitement levels are running high around here. This afternoon we're off to Cambridge to hire a punt, and Sam is going to give us our very own private tour of made up "facts" about the colleges... and even the gathering black clouds can't dampen my enthusiasm.
Happy Birthday! That key ring is perfect, how sensitive of Sam! Great news about the new course, you'll enjoy it.
