Considerations

Making a sock monster for a new baby, not yet arrived, has required some consideration. First of all - what to do about the eyes? Buttons won't do... but some heavily stitched felt should fit the bill and not come unattached.

And what about colour? Traditional baby pastels perhaps? Neither pink nor blue but lemon and lavender, gentle soothing colours?

Or possibly more intense pastels combining pink and blue?

Or perhaps something really bright and eye catching? Babies like bright colours, don't they?

Unable to decide... I've made all three!

Soft and gentle

Slightly bright and whacky

Or all out bonkers!

I think I know which one is my favourite but which would you choose? No names yet either... all suggestions welcome.

Any of these take your fancy Jude?

  6. I absolutely adore the first, most colourful one (pink and brights). I have heard that babies are stimulated by very bright colours and it's deffo my favourite. Bonkers is a good name. How about Pookie or Blub Blub. Now who's bonkers ...

  11. A straw poll amongst the troops here has also revealed a split along blogger lines. Bonkers it is. Thank you to all those who helped make the decision - I'm sure Mum, Dad and Baby Burrows will be thrilled with their new and unique member of the family!

  13. Babies and toddlers will love these, so would my daughter's Jack Russell!! She loves 'killing' soft toys. I'm hopeless at names, but how about Millie, Molly and Mandy. Now you can work out just how old I am, and if you don't know what I am talking about I must be even older!!

  14. I vote for Bonkers too Gina. But if I was a baby I think I'd love all 3 beside me in the cot.

  15. Hey now this is very exciting - I'm wearing those very same socks today - the pink stripey ones with yellow toes! I know how to behave like a grown up!

My favourite 'song' of the moment is Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal (or however you spell it!), so how about Bonkers, Dizzee and Rascal for the 3 names!?
