Put on your red shoes...

And dance the blues. For it is a sad day

  1. Such a sad day. David Bowie is my second music idol to pass away this month (the other being Lemmy from Motorhead) x

  2. He wasn't one of my favourites but it is always sad when someone passes away before their time, and his family and fans have my sympathy.

  3. So very sad, his music has been there through every decade of my life.
My son sent me a photo of the floral tributes to him in Berlin this evening.

  4. I'm also a huge Bowie fan, and I was really bummed to hear of his passing. We had just downloaded and started listening to the Black Star album a few days ago, and both husband and I remarked at how dark and desperate it sounded... and then it comes to light that he was battling cancer which we now know was terminal. It all makes a whole lot more sense, and the lyrics of the album are more hopeful than when we first listened to it. Anyway, I'm sorry too, and hope you can find some solace in the last album. It brought some for me at least.

  5. A sad day. It's amazing how he appeals to so many age groups. Having got (back) into vinyl recently, my 16 yr old daughter bought my husband Bowie's Aladdins Sane for Christmas. They both love it. There had been a bit of a Bowie revival in our house since Christmas.

  6. I had been listening to his latest album thinking he just keeps getting better, then the news of his death. He certainly went out in style.

  9. I was shocked, and really sad, when David Bowie died. I guess I thought he would live a tremendously long life for some reason. What richness he brought to the world whilst he was here though x
