I promised you cake...

Pistachio and almond macaroons (gluten free) ....

Ginger cake with lemon icing...

Brownies (warning... may contain chocolate)

and blueberry and lime drizzle cake (proved very popular).

Baked today to take along to our Embroiderers' Guild AGM. You might think I was bribing the membership so they would vote me in as chairman for a second year. But no, I think I would have been voted in anyway. There wasn't much (any) competition!

Stay tuned... it's going to be a weekend full of cake!

  1. Those gluten free macaroons are very tempting! I would vote for you to be Prime Minister if you bribed me with those :)

  2. I've gained two pounds by just reading this post!! You should give a calorie count with your cakey posts.

  3. Cakes look wonderful. Sorry I missed the meeting, but USA looks good. Sorry about Textile in Focus, it really is deflating when that sort of thing happens, but onwards and upwards to greater things. I'm sure Gills comments described the situation better than anything I've read so far.

  4. Now that's a baking session! Hope you wore your cake wig to the AGM. You know, just in case anyone was wavering.

  6. Gina, those cakes look so scrumptious! It's difficult for me to pick a favorite...perhaps the ginger cake....

I'm looking forward to seeing what you and those young embroiderers will be creating this autumn.

Gina, I've much more to write to you about your other not so sweet experience. Please be on the lookout for an email from me. Maybe Monday, because I am working this weekend.

  7. Hi Gina, just catching up now that I am back, I haven't commented, but I have been reading. I was so sorry to hear that you were not selected by the group, but so glad to read in your last post that you are feeling more positive about it. I really do believe that sometimes things don't happen because there is actually something better or more appropriate for some reason waiting in the wings, so I hope that will be the case for you. It is good that the embroiderers still wanted you to lead them, but I cant imagine that they could find anyone better for the job in any case! I hope that you are feeling OK now and having a good weekend. I hope too that all is going well for your son. xx

  10. I certainly enjoyed the blueberry traybake! I'd come straight from work and just picked up a sandwich at the station, so it was a lovely to get some homemade cake - thank you.
