Today I bring you lots of photos and not many words... because I'm struggling with words. Only four days into my new module and I'm struggling to make sense of the words in my first assignment.... so while I attempt to "Destabilise the Familiar"... I bring you more SPECTRUM sketchbook work.
Collage in the style of
Sue Dove, worked from an article published on
Workshop on the Web.
Which led to this small textile piece.
And some machine texture samples from the class in St Albans on Tuesday. Despite my reputation for
knocking shelves off the wall, Chris invited me into her home to teach her and three friends. We had a lovely relaxed day with some excellent work... from Christine...
and Lana...
Lynne...
and Shirley.
And while you feast your eyes on these pretty images I shall go back to making sense of my words... while I "smile an everlasting smile" (or is it a grimace?).... for words are all I have.
Love your sketchbook pages and the little stitched piece. The samples from your workshop are gorgeous - such lovely colours and textures. Good luck with your words - they can be so difficult sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThese images are beautiful, so inspiring to see how others' creativity blossoms. Hope you get your worms - sorry words sorted out, it is SO hard to get started sometimes isn't it ... don't be downhearted!
ReplyDeletelove to see the process of your developing designs Gina. your class pupils have also produced some gorgeous work. ugh - difficult to get your head round things sometimes. I find new instructions make no sense - it takes a while to bed in.
ReplyDeleteAnd lots of lovely pictures they are too. I'd definitely be struggling to make sense of your first assignment title too, hope inspiration strikes!
ReplyDeleteLove the sketchbook pages! Will your next assignment involve miles of french knitting?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, I just love the use of all those beautiful colours!
ReplyDeleteI think I would struggle with those words too much rather look at the art!

ReplyDeleteWell done all - good luck with the art speak%@?!!
You obviously are a very good instructor as this work is lovely.
ReplyDeleteAs for the McQueen show, it is not traveling and closes at the end of July. I will continue to post more images on my blog though if you want to pop over for a look.
Good luck with your assignment and those unco-operative words! beautiful drawings and stitching. Jane x
ReplyDeletelove the way the sketchbook work has developed
ReplyDeleteThe words are not a problem to me, but I could not begin to produce the artwork that you do - we all have our strengths and weaknesses!
