Mass Production

I've been making rather a lot of fabric brooches over the past couple of weeks... bonding fabrics onto felt, stitching them in place...

Adding thicker threads and some hand stitching before stitching them down onto more felt...

and then finishing them off with scraps of recycled lace and buttons. This latest batch were all made from a mixed pack of vintage feedsack scraps from Sal's Snippets...

which was not only perfect for brooches...

but also made ideal china in which to serve tea to your vicar.

And the reason for this mass production of brooches, tea cosies and other items...

is that I will be having a stall at this year's Ashwell Show on August Bank Holiday Monday both selling items and demonstrating machine embroidery.

Of course, if it all sells as well as it did at Open Studios I might have to re-open my Etsy shop in September!

  1. The brooches are lovely - can see them selling like hot cakes, or should I say, vicar's cups of tea!
