even all through that football match...and the final stitch went in at 10.52 pm. Four dresses finished with still two weeks to go. Four satin dresses... it slips, it frays and it marks but I've done it.
Two dresses that fit beautifully and two that have never been near their recipients! But I don't care because I've finished and at the moment I don't think I ever want to make another dress... ever! Now I'm going to clean up my house ready for Open Studios at the weekend... details can be found on www.camopenstudios.co.uk

Unrelated but thought I would mention it (even though this means more people will enter reducing my chance of winning!) is Silverpebble's next Pass the Book giveaway... do go and take a look.
Oooh look at you bagging three entries!

Well done on getting those dresses finished! Good riddance! :o) Enjoy a bit of sunshine this afternoon. you've earned it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comment: enjoy some sun. The dresses must be a load of your mind. Well done you and good luck with the open studio thingie...
ReplyDeleteYou must be so relieved that those dresses are done - they look beautiful but it must have been tough going working with that slippery satin!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing those dresses - have a Gold Star! It might be horrid to work with but that satin is a gorgeous colour. Hope next weekend is a good one for you. Happy houseworking!
ReplyDeleteNow the dresses are finished you must take time out to enjoy the sunshine. I think you deserve it after that dressmaking job!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust a thimbleful....
ReplyDeleteOuch, working with slippery satin in the heat - not nice. I vowed long ago never to make a garment for anyone else ever again. People are happy to buy a size 12 and say it is a bit big on the shoulder and a bit loose on the hip but if you are making it it has to fit like wallpaper! Nooooo.
Oh well done you. A mommoth task but I bet the re3lief is palpable x
ReplyDeleteThe dresses look lovely but I can imagine how glad you are to see the back of them! Lucy x
