Spot the Difference...

The macaron on the left is made from eggs, sugar, almonds, white chocolate and raspberries and tastes rather yummy...

But the one on the right is made from fabric... and you can't eat it.

I had so much fun making this and avoiding my paperwork on Friday afternoon... The stitching isn't quite as neat as I would like but the fact I actually stitched in a zip to something that small is a feat all on its own!

I can take no credit for the "recipe"... which you can find here.

Thank you to my friend Pam... who knows how much I like a frivolous project. Especially if it takes the place of lesson planning on a Friday afternoon!

  1. That is so tiny and neat as well as delightfully quirky. I can't imagine how fiddly it must have been to construct. I have a mental image of what my attempt would look like and can only marvel at yours.

  2. I'd seen the instructions of how to do that last week and decided it was too fiddly to even attempt! Yours is lovely, so very very neat. And I now have to admit publicly that I've never eaten a real one either - oh the shame of it!

  3. So pretty - having seen the picture guess who now wants to make one (she had difficulty with a simple tassel!)

Don't you just love a distraction, we have just decorated two bedrooms, one actually is going to be a craft room for me but upstairs is a complete mess and I have been distracting myself with all sorts today to avoid it!!Even ironing, that's how bad it is!

  10. How amazing - I could never tackle a zip in such a small article - yours looks ready to eat! I love your knitted sheep in the previous post too - have you found more diversions from your paperwork now? Cheers

  11. Gina, getting that zipper added to your macaron is quite a feat. Are you sure that you didn't have some helpers like The Tailor of Gloucester?

However you managed to make it, the little container is charming. xo
