Baa..mey!!!

I am still groaning under the weight of too much cake but have been indulging in some exercise of the knitting variety. Not only have I been creating monsters in recent weeks... but I've made sheep too. Well... a sheep to be precise.

After finishing this one I decided knitting my own flock was probably a step too far. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd even succeeded in knitting one. Unclothed, he couldn't look less like a sheep.

More like a donkey... or a strange dog.

But dressed up in his rather fine coat he just about passes the sheep test... a donkey in sheep's clothing perhaps?

And more monster news... Fernley has packed himself into a bag and is now off to live in California without so much as an "I'll miss you".

Maybe he'll write to me when he arrives?

  1. I do like your sheep, as is, with the purple coat but perhaps if you made his/her coat out of fuzzy angora in a white/off white colour, you may think it looks more like a sheep.
Boys don't tend to keep in contact - and forget writing so I wouldn't hold out hope of Fernley dropping you a line. He looks eager and ready for sun, sand and surf.

  2. No she looks fab, I think the face was the salvation of what could have been a four legged beast in sheep's clothing....

  3. I love your sheep but are you sure it's a 'he'? I thought I caught sight of the name Heather, but maybe that just referred to the colour of the wool for it's jacket.

  5. Your next challenge should you choose to accept it is to knit an alpaca. Just stretch the neck a bit and give it some longer legs :D I like the sheep in the coat too, and as for the cakes, I put pounds on just looking.

  6. Awe don't expect a postcard, in my experience you never here from them again unless their new Mums let you know how they're doing.
Love the little sheep and it's little purple coat. :)
    Happy weekend Gina,

  10. I love the purple coat. Maybe we could persuade some of its friends in the field to wear a variety of colours. That would brighten up the bleak winter days.... rainbow sheep.

  11. Love the sheep, the woollie coat gives it that sheep(ish) look. And the monsters are great characters! Do let us know if you do ever hear from Fernley.
