Cake Therapy!

Windfalls from my neighbour's garden and eggs from my girls...

means a Dorset Apple Cake for us!

You didn't really believe me when I said starting the new degree module would mean less cake, did you?

Two days in with "Fine Art Embroidery"... two days of cutting and sticking... and I was in need of some baking therapy. It could well be that there will be more cake rather than less in the next few weeks! I'm feeling a need for another slice...

I hope the eggs weren't windfalls...I can imagine them leaving the hens at a greta speed...

I started back on my course today and the desire for some cake or anything sweet certainly came over me. I could do without it, I managed to lose 10lbs over the summer through sheer physical hard work and I don't want to put it all back on again over the winter. Your picture isn't helping :o) but it does look rather nice. Hmmm!

I really enjoyed the Dorset apple cake! I love these virtual cakes, I can look at them as often as I like and not gain an ounce, so your therapy is helping both of us.

We only have 1/4 of each birthday cake left and I can thoroughly recommend the recipes. Check out 'The Caked Crusader' on my sidebar then click on Clotted Cream Cake. OH! MY!

Cake is so soothing and a great stress buster so carry on baking! I love apple cake and apple chutney and live in hope that someone round here will have too many apples! Shop ones are OK but even windfalls taste better.

Wish I'd seen this yesterday when I had a bag full of windfalls. Mind you, I made stewed apples instead which is probably far better for the diet ;-)

Yum! I need to collect as many apple recipes as I can to try and get through the ton of apples in my parents new garden!

I see you've been busy. Sorry I've been out of the loop for a bit.

delicious looking recipe - all the yummier for windfall apples, they are so sweet at that stage.
And I can see why cake is completely necessary when starting more course work - I'm just surprised it was a "good" cake - I suppose those "bad" (chocolate) cakes will be saved for end of term.

Yum. We were just saying that we needed to find a cake to make for this weekend, to avoid "having" to buy lemon yumyums from Waitrose on Saturday morning...

oh yum. I made one very similar this week called Swiss apple cake and have just polished off the last portion. Embroidery + cake = square bottom.
