Beach Hut Bunting

When I was visiting Silverpebble's Open Studio on Saturday, not only was I enamoured by her beautiful silvery jewels, delighted by her cottage garden and seriously envious of her beach hut studio... I also fell in love with some crochet bunting she had trailing through the garden leading to the hut.

And so over the past couple of evenings I have set myself the task of making some of my own. There was a lot of trial and error and ripping back but I'm quite pleased with the results.

Of course, now I have to decide where to hang it...

Would it be going too far to build a beach hut in garden from which to hang my crochet bunting? No, I thought not.

  10. Sounds like a wonderful idea. I always loved Alan Titchmarsh's studio in his garden when he was on Gardener's World. Just make sure the windows/doors open wide for ventilation in summer, as my potting shed has fixed windows and turns into an oven.

  11. Such pretty bunting demands it, really.

I have a shed, but the spiders and kiddy junk in it renders it most offputting.

  12. Gina, do you need any more encouragement to get going on that beach hut? If you do, let me tell you that the bunting looks grand, and just perfect to accessorize a beach hut!

  15. Just a thimbleful...

I also admired Silverpebble's crochet bunting! I had hoped to get bunting made for this month's Open Studios but although it is in a neat pile of triangles I had to borrow Marian's again! Trust you not to let the grass grow under your feet !

  16. Look at me with my big green eyes as I now want crochet bunting too! I've recently mastered [or mistressed] the art of hook and string too and would seriously like some of that - was it super-hard to do? I may even attempt it if not.

  20. A beach hut in the garden sounds fabulous think of all the driftwood you could collect and put next to it - and the bunting around - I think this is a must for you!!!

  22. Think I've found a pattern on U-tube that I can understand. Will let you know how it turns out [may even post myself if it's THAT good]! Watch my space - s-l-o-w-l-y ...

  23. Definitely a beach hut! I'm saving up to put one in my garden in Milton Keynes. Want a solar water feature to get water bubbling over pebbles and to create a small sandy beach. I have no illusions about what my cat will use it for but at least it will be easy to clean! I'm sure it's do-able. Bunting, windbreaks and deckchairs to follow.
