Bags of Fun

In my effort to catch up with things around the house and garden I have been tidying up and clearing out the junk from my workroom. I am embarassed to admit to the huge number of unfinished projects (some dating back years) and kits (some I've not even opened) that I have managed to unearth... most of them long forgetten! One such item was this kit for a bag in lovely Japanese fabrics bought at a quilt show several years ago.

So today, instead of finishing my tidying, or getting back out into the garden, I've been making a bag. And now that it's finished I'm not even sure that I like it!

Tomorrow I'm supposed to be going on a picnic, so I guess there won't be any tidying up or gardening done then either! Let's hope the sun shines.

*update*
I'm not feeling 100% - very tired and have an eye infection that's not clearing up so have decided it won't be sensible to drive almost 100 miles to the picnic tomorrow. I'm really disappointed but hope everyone who is going has a brilliant time.

  4. Nothing irritates me more than not loving something that I have created. Maybe you will feel differently about it after you feel a little better. :)

  5. Sorry you are not feeling 100%, hope you feel better soon enough to enjoy Easter. Your bag is gorgeous, it's a shame you couldn't take it to the picnic.

  6. I think your bag is very unusual and lovely. Hope you have found some treatment for your eye and that it is more comfortable now. I think it has been quite chilly recently and the weather is quite erratic, so staying at home might be a good decision.

  7. Oh dear, sorry to hear you're not sparkling. Hope your eye infection gets better quickly. Probably a good idea not to go on a journey but what a shame to miss the picnic. You'll just have to all do it again :o)

  8. I like your bag!

Feel better soon - the long drive doesn't sound like a good idea if your eyes are not well.

  9. You'll be missed Gina. But it's not fun if you feel under the weather.

    I like the bag.

  11. Sorry to hear you're not feeling the best, definetly sensible to rest up. I love the fabric combo on the bag, but as a shorty feel it looks a little 'long'?

  12. Sorry to hear you are not feeling up to the mark Gina. An eye infection is so uncomfortable it put you off doing anything. Poor you.
Now, the bag. I like it and actually bought something like it in Tenerife and it was so useful! you won't be sorry you made it. I buy bags when I go away just for inspiration, so I hope to make a similar one.

  13. Well I think the bag is great and perfect for those large bottles of lemonade we all have to take on summer picnics.

  16. Sorry to hear not not feeling great, probably all that tidying up! I like the bag, funny though I've got a few of those unopened must haves, bought at shows and never looked at when I get home. I think that lots of chocolate is needed over Easter then you'll feel much better ;)

  17. The bag is an unusual shape but I like it. I think brighter colours may be an idea but this is an ideal grocery bag. Keep it in the car for spur of the moment shopping.
