Not a film for the purists but a couple of hours of wonderful escapism far away from washing machines and boilers!
- A totally implausible plot...
- A mixture of satire, comedy and thriller...
- A dynamic new Holmes portrayed as never before...
- Fabulous sets of Victorian London...
- Even a touch of romance...
I thought it was impossible not to be totally swept away... fabulous!
Just catching up on everyone's blogs. Poor you re heating and washing machine troubles. Still, it has to be said, without those troubles I wouldn't have been able to sit leering at the picture of Sherlock! I nearly dropped my mince pie! :O)
ReplyDeleteCrumbs! I didn't think Victorians did six packs!!!
ReplyDeleteyes. he is NOT how I have imagined my Sherlock. oh those abs. i don't think SH did bench presses etc. do you?
ReplyDeleteJust a thimbleful....
ReplyDeleteI wanted to go to the cinema today - family all left today, DD1 back to Market Drayton & DD2 to Holland. It is raining and cold and I've piles of washing and tidying and I just wanted to walk out and leave it all! But George just wanted to flop!
Maybe tomorrow! It looks great.
Happy New Year to you all, love M
We were going tomorrow afternoon to see it, but our boiler is due to be fixed so we'll have to go another day!
ReplyDeleteHope your boiler problem is sorted out soon, it's not nice being cold is it, how did we manage before central heating? It makes you appreciate it doesn't it!
Thats a film i'd like to see! Jane x
ReplyDeleteThat's surely not Sherlock Holmes? How insanely silly. Looks great fun.
ReplyDeletePhwoar, but I'd still rather 'have' Jeremy Brett- am I weird?
ReplyDeleteEm and I are hoping to see this some time soon - she just loves Robert Downney Junior!
ReplyDeletexx
Woo hoo! That's some six pack! Who needs central heating ;o) (Does anyone else think sh looks like Arnie in this shot or is it just me?)
ReplyDeleteoooh eeer I certainly do not remember Sherlock Holmes described like that.... perhaps I misread?
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmm! He looks INTERESTING!!!!! Lucy ;o)
ReplyDeleteIf its any consolation we are cold even when the boiler is working..but that pic helped!
ReplyDeleteI CAN'T WAIT to see this--I was infatuated with a little movie called "Young Sherlock Holmes" that came out in the 80s when I was a pre-teen. I had my first swoon over the good Dr!
ReplyDeleteHave just got back from the cinema having watched Sherlock Holmes and I have to agree with you... hubba hubba hubba!
ReplyDeleteIf only all detectives had bodies like that .....
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are are shivering in dirty clothes - maybe we should sort out that trip to the F&T Museum to escape?
Have a very Happy New Year Gina xx
We have just walked in from seingthis amazing film and my head is still spinning with the graphics, special effects, story twist turns and down right sexy beyond all reason Sherlock, I would certainly put my kntting down for him...must go...for a cold shower....
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Gina.
ReplyDeleteI admire how you are able to keep so upbeat through all the domestic problems.
Happy 2010 Gina, to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you sometime soon.
He is rather tasty - would he pose for your life drawing class? Glad you could forget your troubles for a while and relax.
ReplyDeleteWe saw it too, a few days ago. I still can't decide whether I liked it or not. I loved the escapism part of it but, it's ,Sherlock Holmes! The other half of me thought there were a few too many stuntmen for Sherlock Holmes LOL. Hard not to like it with that cast though!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!!
Holey MOLEY!
