Five on Friday... And a bonnet!

I teach a regular machine embroidery class on Tuesday afternoons, that I have been doing for about eight years now... Maybe longer, I've lost count. Some of the ladies ( never any men) have been coming for as long as I have been teaching and there is always a beautiful selection of work produced. So to cheer up this Friday I thought I would share some of their recent work... Five beautiful floral wreaths... And an Easter bonnet!

Lynn's

Julia's

Linda's Very Hungry Caterpillar wreath for her granddaughter... can you spot him?

Gill's

And Sarah's... Sarah is one of this year's beginners.

And I know this sort of makes six... But I couldn't leave out Ann's gorgeous Easter bonnet for her granddaughter... Or it might even be her great granddaughter, I can't remember ( possibly because Ann doesn't look old enough!)
Joining in with Amy for Five on Friday

Have a good weekend... I'll be back on Sunday with my Cake Slice Bakers cake for this month.

  1. These are all fabulous!! You are obviously a wonderful teacher, and your ladies are all so talented too. Love the colour variations of all these Easter wreaths, every one is gorgeous! I did find the very hungry caterpillar. A favourite book when my own daughter was small ... I loved the way she would exclaim at the end "a bootiful butterfly!" ... which I also spied in that wreath ;)
    Have a great weekend Gina!

  10. Gina, I've been having a colorful catch up on your recent posts.

The embroidered flowers really do lend themselves to spring wreaths so well. It's fun just imagining the collaborative creative atmosphere of your classes. There really are no limits to how and where machine embroidery can be applied!

Great Missenden truly does look like a place that I would also love to visit. How wonderful that your teaching schedule also allows you some time to have some walks, sit a while in a special site, see those vistas and red kites...and recharge creative batteries.

Somehow, over here in the States, Roald Dahl never really figured in childhood reading to or by either myself or my two younger brothers. It's only as an adult that I read about him. You've reminded me that I might enjoy checking out one of his classic books from my fabulous library.

Thanks for all of this! xo
