Sweet Sunday

Because I often work weekends I really value a lazy Sunday with no pressure to do anything in particular...

time to spend an hour or so in the garden raking leaves.

Having spicy parsnip soup for lunch...

With a homemade cottage loaf,,,

even if the top did go rather askew...

It still tasted good! And then after a lazy afternoon reading the paper, a night out at the cinema to see a good film.

A Sunday all the more sweet for knowing that next weekend I'll be working!

  1. Seen on Facebook that you've been working hard. Loved the Christmas crackers!

  2. A perfect sunday indeed, Gina! Homemade bread and soup constitute the best kind of meal.

My parents went to see this film too and enjoyed it.

    Happy, busy week to you.

  5. I have to say, even if your bread is askew, I'd say Rustic, it looks delicious and far better than any of my attempts at bread making! That soup looks yummy too. x

  7. When you are so busy it is good to savour the time when you are not working. I could almost smell that lovely bread and like it's jaunty top.

  8. Your bread looks super delicious Gina. I avoid eating bread because I tend to binge on it once I start but I would definitely have a slice of yours! x

  9. I think that making bread would destroy my whole weekend. Look forward to hearing what you thought of the film x

  10. Oh I was really hoping to see Mr Turner this past weekend and got bogged down in chores. I do hope it's still on this coming weekend! xx

  13. I'm off to see Mr Turner tomorrow - Sunday, as it happens - but I doubt there will be such a scrummy lunch beforehand. I'm not a parsnip lover but the soup looks and sounds delicious. Looking forward to the film enormously. Hope you enjoyed it?
