Recycling

Today I've delivered the carrier bag dress to a new temporary home...

20 High St, Haddenham, Nr Ely

RECYCLING
The Craft of Turning Rubbish into Art
6th March - 4th April 2010

If you get a chance, do go and visit the exhibition. Haddenham Galleries are a lovely place to visit... not just an Art Gallery but also an ethnic gallery, a sculpture garden, a gift shop and a super little tea shop. And if that wasn't enough, Haddenham is also home to Spoilt Rotten Beads which is worth a visit in itself. And of course it is just a stone's throw away from the beautiful city of Ely. What more excuse do you need for a day out?

  10. It is so gorgeous Gina. I visited an exhibition of rag rugs last weekend and there were a few bags and rugs made from recycled carrier bags, not a patch on your fab frock though.

  15. What an amazing dress...you are so clever...how I would love to slip into that...a bin liner would be a better fit for my ample frame...

  16. I really wish I could see your dress for real. I didn't realise it was made of carrier bags either! Has it started to disintegrate in any way. The bags we get now break down so fast these days ... good for the planet but no good for textiles at all! ;o)

  21. Time to to consult the bus timetables to see if I can manage a day out. (I've a feeling I'd need to stay overnight in Haddenham, but nothing ventured...)
