Love is in the Air

We had a Young Embroiderers meeting yesterday and the girls were making little books... a handstitched variation of my Little Bonded Books. I made a sample with a Valentine theme to give them some inspiration.

Not that they needed me to inspire them... look at all the wonderful covers they made. There was actually a lot more variation in colour than this but I took the photos with my phone, which I've never attempted before and it seems to have made everything the same colour!

All the girls and all the helpers managed to make a little book to take home for Valentine's Day.

I hope you are having a lovely February 14th!

  12. Oh, lots to love in this Valentine's Day post.

Since I learned to enjoy all sorts of needle work when I was very young, and have continued to explore all sorts of textile avenues ever since, it's grand to know that girls are still enjoying this introduction. I bet that you inform your young embroiderers about all the beautiful embroidery traditions that this globe of ours holds.

And then quick hop over to the breakfast room. Just love that fried heart. (No cholestorol, as long as it's heart-shaped, right? I am now supposed to only have one egg per week. Crazy? Yes. I make it a fried one.)

  13. Those lasses have done a wonderful job on those little books - at first when I peeped at the pictures I thought they were grown-up work! I especially like the floral one.

What an amazing coincidence that your egg fell into that shape in the pan!!
