I believed him... I believed him yesterday when he said "No problem, we should have heat back on by Friday evening." But he's gone home and we still don't have heat. What's more the water has been off all day too so I didn't even get the washing done... no clean sheets for me tonight.
Which is just as well really as I've not managed a shower today either!
The pub is beginning to sound like an attractive option this evening.
If you can make it here, we'll have a fire going ... and I'm pretty sure I have clean sheets and towels you could borrow. Has he at least switched the water back on now?
ReplyDeleteArgh. Not at *all* funny.
Poor you, I do hope you find some warmth this evening. Jane x
ReplyDeleteOh noooooo!
ReplyDeleteWhen we had a 4 day power cut a few years back, Cliff and I went to the cinema in the evening.
The pub sounds like a good idea.
Take care
Celia
Gins ~ I feel for you...as I said before, you must be thoroughly fed up. I hope you get sorted soon, I really do.
ReplyDeleteBrrrr, poor you. Pub sounds very wise!
ReplyDeleteo no Gina, thats awful - i would definitely go to the pub - if they've got rooms i would stay there too!!!
ReplyDeletexxx
Pub, definitely pub!
ReplyDeleteI'd be baring my teeth, not smiling, if that happened to me. You must be so fed up. Take your sleeping bags down to the pub - they might even let you have a shower!! Do hope it's sorted soon - it can't be much longer.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you are smiling........ You must be made of strong stuff. I think the pub is a brilliant idea.....
ReplyDeletePoor you. When is he coming back? What about drinking a Windermere Warmer- Hot Chocolate and a large slug of brandy- it really warms you up!
ReplyDeleteOh Gina, that's awful, I think Sharne's right, but I bet you've already got a slug of something in that mug! Yes when is he coming back? Not Monday I hope.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a lovely warm evening in the pub! I also hope you have water so you can use the loo (Sorry to lower the tone!)
ReplyDeleteWill they let you sleep at the pub?
ReplyDeleteyou have shown amazing fortitude in the face of this untenable situation: no heat, not water, can't bathe, can't do dishes or laundry (oh! well that might not be sooooo bad, eh). And still you smile you courageous woman....
ReplyDeleteOh Gina ..you'll look back on this and laugh. If its any consolation the temperature in our bathroom is just over 50 ...WITH THE HEATING ON!!!
ReplyDeleteAt least you know you will be warm eventually.
Any chance that this situation will improve over the weekend? Gosh you have deep inner resources to have that smile on your face.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely go to the pub. Maybe even take up residence there.
xo

ReplyDeleteAck! He lied. It's miserable being cold. I'd be taking Val up on her offer...
ReplyDeleteOh Poor you, this saga has been running and running. I really feel for you. hope you haven't got snow to contend with as well. Here hoping he turned out today to get things fixed. Sending a virtual hug, Penny x
ReplyDeleteYour smile reaches out and warms me so I am sending back a smile and hoping that everything is sorted out and you can consign this awful episode to history.
ReplyDeleteOh Gina, that really is not good at all :o(
ReplyDeleteIt's so cold here with the heating on full blast so I can't bear to think of how much colder it is for you!
I hope something miraculous happens soon!
Lucy xx
Keeping my fingers crossed that it is all fixed now. Sending warm wishes...
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Steve says firstly you must live in the bermuda triangle of white goods/household appliances and secondly, just burn the washing - it will keep you warm and think of all the ironing you won't have to do...
