I don't know about you but I'm not really sorry that January is behind us. I always find it so long and cold and dreary with the promise of twinkly fairy lights and never ending mince pies behind us. And let's not talk about the mud... I don't think I've ever known such a muddy January. I seem to spend my days cleaning the dog and washing towels.
But here I am on 1st February... such a lovely short month... looking out the window at a beautiful blue sky. It might still be cold but there were snowdrops and daffodils to be seen on my walk this morning, birds could be heard singing and even the dog came back clean. So reasons to be cheerful as Spring is in sight. Yes I know there are probably still weeks and weeks of rain and mud ahead but don't burst my bubble just yet.
So in a buoyant mood I've turned to one of my 'intentions' for 2018 which was to restock my Etsy shop with tangible items as well as PDF tutorials and as yesterday I managed to finish off another appliqued zipped pouch (finishing things is another 'intention') I spent an hour or so uploading things to the shop. It took a while... it terrifies me how quickly I forget how to do things related to technology when I haven't done them for a while... is it only me?
But once I managed to do one, the others were fairly straightforward.
And so I now have four little zipped pouched listed in my Etsy shop... and the problem of getting people to see and hopefully buy them. So I'm telling you first... and if they sell I might make some more.
You can find them here should you want to take a look and there is free shipping in the UK!
No it is not only you. I forget how to do things too if I don't do something technical for a while. That includes sewing techniques. Use it or lose it indeed.
ReplyDeleteCharming little bags. I see they are selling already.
Pleased to know I'm not alone!
DeleteThese little bags are so pretty Gina. I almost forgot how to put a post on my blog. I think things had changed but having done one post I am finding it really hard to get photos on for the next one!
ReplyDeleteYes it is lovely to welcome February....definitely heading in the right direction now! I don't normally mind January too much but the flu put paid to that this year!
ReplyDeleteI love your little pouches, one in particular!! :)
Beautifully done, and yes, I completely forget how to do technological things all the time. It was indeed nice and dry today wasn't it. Non-muddy dog here as well, hurray! CJ xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little bags! As for technology, I forget how to do things too, but it's amazing what you can find on Google and You tube to jolt the little grey cells back into action:)
ReplyDeleteEven more annoying than forgetting is when they change how to do something or add 'extra features' that just complicate things. I've still not got my head around Instagram stories!
DeleteThe bags are lovely. Flying the flag here for the underdog that is January (yep, big fan of all that cold and darkness and anything else it cares to throw at us). I don't understand most of the techie stuff in the first place so not a lot to forget!
ReplyDeleteInstagram has stories? How do they work?
ReplyDeleteLove those bags!
I'm glad it's gone too it is not the cheeriest of months is it? I love your bags are you still basing them on your doodle a day? I tried both etsy and folksy, I only ever sold one item on etsy and had much more luck on folksy but it seems to be getting things seen as you say. When my viewings dropped I stopped listing as I was pre-occupied with it and it was irritating me. Good luck with your sales maybe you could try both, I am clearly rubbish at marketing! xx
ReplyDeleteMy doodles have gone by the wayside a little lately but have plenty of ideas for new bags. I've sold two, but definitely need more effort into marketing. It's not a way to get rich!
DeleteYour little bags are darling Gina -- I would have a hard time parting with them. Your comment about forgetting how to do technology things described the terror I feel almost every day at work. We hop around doing tasks with different applications and there's usually a gap of a few weeks between work with any given app so I always struggle to remember what I'm doing. It really sucks too, when someone is needing information and their looking over your shoulder -- I know I just look like an old person trying to use the computer LOLOL!
