My hand stitched advent calendar that has gone up every year for the past twenty years is once again hanging in my hallway with its little bags of chocolate to be opened each day and so the countdown begins.
And once again I've decided to do a blog countdown too.
I'm sure many of my posts will be similar to previous years because that's the nature of this time of year, but I hope you'll pop by each day to say hello and maybe you'll find something of interest.
See you tomorrow!
Excellent, I'll enjoy that!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining me!
DeleteYour calendar is wearing very well and I look forward to tomorrow's post.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, and chocolate too! I shall look forward to following you throughout December. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteHow marvellous to have kept it all these years. I'm curious- have the chocolates changed or is it still the old favourites? I'm a 90% addict these days.
ReplyDeleteIt's usually whatever is on over! This year I bought chocolate multi packs for Halloween but then we ended up going out so I had lots left from that. It was mini flakes today!
DeleteSo glad to see your advent adventures again Gina - gives the rest of us an excuse for a few moments relaxation an amongst all the craziness! have a lovely Christmas when it comes and hope to see you soon. T x
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely advent calendar and I shall look forward to your advent countdown.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed your advent countdown last year Gina.
ReplyDeleteI stitched an Advent Calendar for my southern family (Lawrence, South Otago). Every year, I post off an assortment of sweet treats, craft bits and pieces, and this year, 3 little decorated cards for each child. Inside each card I wrote a suggestion, e.g. do something today which will make Dad smile, do something today which will make your teacher happy. That sort of thing. They are quite young children! I am looking forward to hearing how inventive they have been following the suggestions. Even more I am looking forward to flying south (from Auckland) to be with them this Christmas.
What a fabulous idea Erica. I bet they will love that. Fanny xxx 😉
DeleteThanks Fanny...ooops, Gina! The oldest, Olive, was allowed to help put the goodies in each little pocket. Made her feel very grownup.
DeleteI remember seeing a craft feature in Country Living magazine ages ago, and it showed this Janet Bolton design! How time flies, huh?
ReplyDeleteThat is where I got the design all those years ago Valerie. I seem to remember they had a series of craft supplements with some really beautiful things.
DeleteLove your calendar. Wish I'd made one twenty years ago. Instead, have had to make do with a last minute purchase from a bookshop. There wasn't much left to choose from and I've ended up with a non sparkly one. I do like a bit of glitter at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI'll enjoy following your Christmas countdown and look forward to your posts. Your advent calendar is lovely, you did a marvellous job with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn x
